Todd Rundgren’s Initiation (1975) pushes the boundaries of progressive rock with bold synthesizers and mystical themes. Featuring the epic 36-minute instrumental “A Treatise on Cosmic Fire,” this 67-minute album defied vinyl limits, requiring special care for playback. A groundbreaking release, it still soared to #7 on the Billboard Top LPs & Tapes chart—essential listening for fans of experimental rock. Out of print on vinyl since 1987, the 2LP set includes new liner yestes, is being cut directly from the stereo analog tapes at Bernie Grundman Mastering and will be pressed on 2LP colored vinyl (Translucent Light Blue) for the first time.
